Also, you're assuming that a tour pro that hits his driver an avg of 290 couldn't gain another 10 yrds by looking at a dvd that explains how to strengthen your core abdominal muscles and improve your balance?? |

| Re: rip it 300 yards..... Sorry, I did not mean to be offensive in any way, I didn't mean you personally. Of course you can pick up tips from dvd's as you can from this web site just the same, but this is free not £120.00. It's only my opinion but I think you or anyone else could or should seek to spend their money on something better than this to aid your golf game. As I said I am sure he offers many tips on building strengh for golf but these come from mags at a fraction of the cost, and we have a fittness expert at this site, please feel free to look in the staff list at the top and contact him. A series of lessons I am sure would benefit anyone more as we are all individual and built differently. http://www.thegolfdiet.com/ This is a great health website for golfers. Regards Ian.

YEah, I suckered out for this one and it was a piece of $hit! Don't even waste your time and $ on this one. PM me and I'll see if I can send it to you. It's a joke! |

| Re: rip it 300 yards..... It basically tells you to do the normal things with a driver....tee it higher, play off big toe, keep behind the ball....just normal stuff about driving...nothing special. Then, he instructs you to do a couple of exercises and ingest a bunch of creatine. That's it! It was such a rip! |

| Re: rip it 300 yards..... In the past couple of weeks I have had several 300+ yard drives. I won the long drive hole in a member guest tourney with a drive of 327 yards. Today with a 10-15 mile wind at my back I hit one about 340 yards. The only way I can hit that far is by swinging out of my shoes and making great contact. Ian is absolutely right in suggesting lessons over video. And I am a firm believer in weight training to improve muscular control and power. The videos advertised remind me of similar softball videos. There is one called "Hit a softball 400 feet" that is the apex of high comedy. First all the guys are 6'4 300 pounds and ex pro ball players. Most of the guys in the long drive videos are big enough, strong enough and strike the ball reasonably enough to hit an average drive 300 yards. Just as likely as I am to hit a softball out of the Metrodome (saw it in person, upper deck shot) I will hit a 400 yard drive. So take some lessons, improve your strength and flexibility and see how far you really hit the ball and improve on that. It will save you money and lots of frustration in the end. | Re: rip it 300 yards..... I understand lessons is the way to go. I already took lessons and my instructor couldn't fix my slice - however there are times when I just hit the ball perfectly straight and long, but I have no idea how I did so. Here's what I think I might've done. - Stood tall. - Full shoulder turn - Relaxed downswing - Follow through (try to hit my back) The only thing that might be a factor is my ball positioning. I also think my downswing isn't shallow enough, I might still be hitting my driver like my irons. |

| Re: rip it 300 yards..... My swing feels pretty fast. Impact feels pretty solid. Ball shoots out at a decent angle. But it dies down around the 170yd mark. I've seen some guys at my range shoot the ball out too, looks impressive, but it also dies at around the 220yd mark at the most. Let's not even talk about my drive, but how about those guys driving it 220yd? How will they be able to improve till they can hit the 260yd mark? I'm sure it's not impossible, but what's the biggest obstacle to this incremental 40yds? I'm sure they have been shooting this distance for years and years, so what do they really need to do to get to the next level? |

| Re: rip it 300 yards..... Its all technique and timing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! me 112pounds and hit 270yards average! I ahve a club head speed of about 107-110mph with driver! I mean I ahve bug all muscle nothing, I am pretty felxible but my technique and timing is solid! Simon I bet your club head speed is around 80mph with driver. Strentgh can help! But you dont want to be going into strentgh stuff until you have good technique and timing. |
