Ball to the right

Can anyone tell me why on some ocasions 8 and 9 iron pushes the ball along the ground to the right. Most of my shots are fine with these clubs but every now and again this creeps in. Is it to do with lifting the head?

Thanks,
Robert

i should think its due to lifting head up and maybe ball positioned too far back in stance. when i push shots its usually the latter

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Dont fall into the old OH NO MY HEAD IS LIFTING UP TO EARLY! That is total bull ****, sorry but it is.

It sounds like you are getting ahead of the ball. In your downswing feel yourself TURN not SLIDE!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont listen to that myth, YOUR HEAD IS LIFTING UP!

Re: Ball to the right

It might be that you are pulling left arm ( if you are right handed) towards your body in the downswing, so that the clubhead rises alittle aswell as being pushed abit forward, to cause the clubhead to hit with the heal, which end up in a terrible right shot.I am just dealing with correcting this problem, and by comparing pictures of shots, i noticed the the right arm was fractionally closer to the body on the terrible shot.

Dont ask me how to fix this, cus it seems to haunt me back and forth these days.
