| Hitting it Fat!!! Or thin Sometimes!!! I'm haveing a problem with my irons. I can help but hit the ball fat on most of my approaches. I don't have this problem when chiping or pitching. I recently had my swing looked at, and there is a little sway when i start my backswing that has been corrected. he thought that may have been the cause of the problem. Since then I have worked hard on correcting my sway and have succeeded, but still the fat shots just keep coming. Anyone know a drill or have any suggestions to help me out with this problem. Thanks, Nick |

Would you say in your opinion that those who RP also tend to cast? BTW...great page. If you can stop yourself from doing all 3 of those mentioned fault, you can do nothing but hit a better shot. |

| Re: Hitting it Fat!!! Or thin Sometimes!!! Sure, reverse pivoters swing from the top down, it's about the only way they feel balanced when all the weight is thrown around their body. |

| Re: Hitting it Fat!!! Or thin Sometimes!!! Ball position is in the middle of my stance with a 5 and 6 iron. When I get to 7 iron through Wedge it moves back about a ball ro two depending on the club. 4 iron and 3 iron it moves up about a ball or two. On the video my back knee was locking a little on the backswing along with a little lean toward the target when I got to the top. I have been working hard on correcting those two faults, and have pretty much succeeded. I think that if I had a better thought on how to initiate my downswing I would be in the clear. I have also been working on holdong my angle (lag) and just letting the club release naturally. That has helped tremendously. Any thoughts on a thought to initiate my downswing. I've heard of the hip bump, but I can't feel it. I have been trying to kind of push my left knee toward the target to start my hips going through. Feels awkward. Thanks, Nick |
