Timing the rotation with weight shift

Hi Guys.
I'm just now starting to sync up the key parts of my downswing swing. My question is when I begin the critical stage of my downswing arm rotation, (right elbow at hip) how much of my weight should have shifted onto my left leg at this point?
Thanks.

If you have to think about this then something went wrong in your back swing. Your uncoiling should take care of this automatically for you.

Re: Timing the rotation with weight shift

IMO no-one will be able to answer this question for you personally as if you ask 20 different golfers they will all feel the weight shift differently. Some dont think about it (Shootin), others (like myself) like to stand on my left foot and drive my hands down , some feel it as right shoulder down/left shoulder up

Is it a weight shift which drives the arms or the arms that drive the weight shift? This is all milli second stuff and I think the best way to find out what works is just hitting balls. Try feeling lower body first, or shoulders, or chest, or feet or hands .. and when you find something that works for you realise this is the right feeling for you. Make sure your method isnt OTT and your hitting it well and stick with it. Dont then read something else in a magazine or a book or a forum message and screw yourself up. I wish I'd taken that advice a few years ago but I learnt the hard way

Re: Timing the rotation with weight shift

Sandmac have you ever play baseball? no ok grab a club wherever sandwedge 3 iron driver.... grip the way you use to, now lift the club waist high, start a back swing stop at three o clock then swing to nine o clock but keep the whole movement from 3 to 9 make sure only upper body move and you lower body stand still do it few times(ten times) now asume the same position but this time the club head knee high and swing from 3 to 9 (ten times) did you feel the lower body want to join the upper body in the movement?
