One-Plane swing - Irons - Help!

Could someone please explain to me how you use your mid and short irons while using the one-plan swing. It is my understanding that with the one-plane swing you swing around your body with a flat plane. But I also understand that you want to hit down using your irons. This is easily done with the long irons because you tend to sweep the ball into the air. Is using the one plane swing possible with short and mid irons? Need a little help figuring this out.

i think it is all about the release..... the swing might be flat but your release is always steep and quick, the uncocking of the right wrist is strait up and down.

The shorter club naturally bends you over more, so you swing naturally steepens. Be careful you don't get under plane trying to swing flatter.

Also, I suppose with the mid-short irons I should have my hands closer to the body. I noticed in the Golf Digest article the fellow is using a Driver and his hands are rather far from his body at the address.
