I'm a 6 handicapper and generally draw the ball. However, at times I push the ball (about 30%) that kills me. Mostly it happens with my mid to long iron (70 %), but sometimes also with my Taylormade R7 9.5 degrees, regular shaft driver. I know that it’s not my swing speed; my swing is not slow to be pushing the ball. Generally, I try to maintain an inside to out path, however, when analyze my divots they are not inside out (if this indicates anything), in reference to the target (but mostly my swing is inside out, when viewed videos). Any help would be great because its hampering my score and pocket!! Thanks,

Re: The dreadful Push! Its a slide. Stay behind the ball.

Tee up a ball. Then behind the ball line 18 to 20 inches place your club head on the ball line. Using the shaft angle as a referance place a soccer ball up to the shaft. This puts the soccer ball just inside the golf ball line. Now place an old shaft in the ground a few inches ahead of the golf ball an to the out side of the ball ( target) line. Set up and strick the golf ball with out hitting the soccer ball. Then in your finsh have your right shoulder finsh ahead of the shaft in balance. Good luck and may you fill your pockets.

Re: The dreadful Push! I pushed the ball for 24 years ! With every club in the bag as well ! It's only this year I've managed to correct this fault. Thank god I found something that worked. It was my address position. My arms were too far apart which caused me to sway away from the ball and bring the club face down with an open face. I narrowed my arms together and did a few practise swings and instantly I knew something was different. The club face on the downswing was in a completely different position. Square ! not open ! The result is I can hit the ball straight down the middle almost every time. The only thing that as stopped me this year is poor course conditions.
