Unhappy Help Me Please

I have been playing golf for about 8 years now and I have always had a slight fade to my tee shots. Last year I only played a hand full of times because I have 2 small children now. When I started back playing again about 4 months ago my slice slowly turned into a duck hook. Now I either hook the ball severely or push it off to the right.

Before I quit playing golf last year I was shooting in the mid to low 80's with an occasional round in the upper 70's. The last for round I played were 87, 103, 90, and 108. I am so frustrated that I am about to give this game up for good. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

The reason for your duck hooks and pushes.

I am sure that you have heard instructors and tour players say keep the club in front of you.

What causes a hook

First lets look at the fundamentals

Grip- if your hands are rotated too far right (too far clockwise) this will close the clubface. This will also cuase an in to out path wich is one of the primary results of hooks, and even duck hooks. What happens when you have an in to out path is in order for you to get the ball started online and at your target you have to rotate the club extremely fast, but when you do this the face is closed at impact. The other spectrum is you push the ball to the right, your holding on too long.

Alignment- aligned right of the target, you have two options. You can come over the top, and pull the ball or possibly pull hook it, or you can snatch the clubface into a closed position to get the ball started online.

Fixes

Weaken your grip move your hands over to the left

Make sure you are aligned parallel left. You can also carry it to the extreme open your stance up aim 10 yards to the left and then swing.
