| Re: It's been Helping me Guys, Today was the 4th day I went to the driving range since I started this routine/Drill of swinging alot every day. I hit my irons strait, long and high today. Out of a bucket of balls I hit two Hooks and 4 slices , the rest all went strait as an arrow. I'm simply amazed at the progress I'm making since I started this. This is my drill, at least 200 Practice swings per night, if not 300. It doesn't take that long to do. My Swing is getting "In the Groove" now. Can't wait to play a round this weekend. Laserman |

| Re: It's been Helping me Quote:
I read an article by Ernie Eves and he talked about, in addition to the mechanics of the swing, you have to find your “own swing”. I was too mechanical and thought I would loosen up a little as well, and it is working for me. I will take lessons through the winter, and indoor swinging, with a mirror will give me a better idea of what I am doing. I know there are many who will disagree with this, but for me, it was a huge mistake to practice swinging without an object in front of me. When I was practicing without an object my motions and pivot were fine. Once I had a ball in front of me I lost my timing and I couldn’t pivot and hit the ball in a coordinated way. My swing was too fast to pivot, and strike the ball – so I hit the ball without pivoting, with my irons, which was a huge power leak and a difficult habit to unlearn. In fact, when under pressure I will resort back to my old bad habits. So, even if you swing over a quarter on the floor, I would have an object in front of me, IMHO. Best of luck in your next game, it would be interesting to read on how the game went. James Last edited by jamesh; 11-15-2006 at 07:41 AM. |

| Re: It's been Helping me Reserve judgement until you play a real round of golf. On the driving range, it's really easy to get into a rhythm where you can hit nice shots one right after the other; doing the same thing on the course is a different ballgame. Remember, on the course there are uneven lies, bad lies etc.etc. The second thing is when you are swinging in the house you have no feedback. You could be laying the club off so bad it's not funny but you don't know. Practice makes permanent, not perfect as the old saying goes. Let me know how you do on the course and then we'll talk. My two cents... |
