Here is the deal with head, I see it all the time, people try to keep the head behind the ball, worst golf instruction ever given, because that is what they think they should do, and to an extent yes, but, and I had this problem for a long time, they move their head too far behind the ball, or worst they just let the head flop over to the right in the swing, then they start down hips and legs shoot forward but the head never moves from were it was at, or flops over further right and down, and they hit it fat, why because the weight never left the right side, your head and shoulders are really heavy, if they stay back, so does the weight.
Your head needs to be over the ball for short
irons and only slightly behind for driver (left ear at most), to acomplish this as cmays says turn your chin to right, but also make sure your eyes are level, by this I mean, when you tilt the upper body at address, don't allow the head to tilt with it, this would put the right eye lower then the left, and the eye line points right, in addition to a sckewed sight line it also promotes all kind of head movement. Leveling the eyes and head allows for a more easy turn with little head movement back, but more importantly it allows the head to move forward as the downswing progresses, you really have to have an outrageous amount of leg drive to ever get your head ahead of the ball, so don't worry you won't do it. If you purposely tried to move your head forward you might, just don't do that..remember at the finish you need to be balanced on the left foot with your head over there too, if you try to hold the head back, it ain't going to happen, you'll end up in a reverse "C", Johnny Miller was the only one that could get away with that ****, but he had an incredible leg drive.
