can you advise of my faults ?

Hi,
Can somebody offer a critique of my swing.
Problems = overswing and swatting with a high flight !
Could you offer some advice, I think the picture shows the start of a casting move .... is there another pic that I can compare my position to ?
Ta, Snake

Hi Snake,

It's not really possible to gain much from this picture without seeing what preceded it or what happens after.

Look at Luke Donald's swing in this link, you can run it frame by frame. He has such a well balanced and smooth swing.

Re: can you advise of my faults ?

Well, I'm no expert but it looks as if your body position has turned too early during the swing... either that or you did not have enough shoulder turn to begin with. It's difficult to tell without a full series of the complete swing or video.

During the downswing, try to keep your back facing the target as long as possible...

Just my humble opinion.

Re: can you advise of my faults ?

I have to agree with brianw as there isn't to much you can see. Even though we can't see your swing in motion and only in 1 still pic. we can make observations. I didn't look at brians link although eventualy I plan to. I notice that you are not really shifting, whether it be laterally or a turn or a combo, etc. Your right foot is still completely flat on the ground and if you look at any good tour player or low handicaper their coming off their right side. It would be cool to see a vid. Good luck.
