Re: Lock your fingers or not? Actually, I had problems when I used interlocking, with nerve damage between my fingers. Bottom line is though that if we get a blister or you have some sort of problem with pain in the fingers there is too much tension in the hands causing these things. I suggest trying different ways to hold the club, as long as your palms are facing and square to the club face then there's no wrong way. Play well!!

Re: Lock your fingers or not? i use the interlock grip! when i first started using the grip i bruised the joint between the index and next finger on my left hand but no blister. since ive learned to relax and trust a looser grip on the club i havent any problems at all.

Re: Lock your fingers or not? Hey Shamed--you Do Not Have To Use The Interlock----most Tour Pros Do Not---tiger Jack Nicklaus And A Couple Of Others Use It---its Totally Preference----use The Overlap If The Interlock Hurts---neither Grip Will Add Control Its Just A Preference---ive Used Both---no Difference---at First It Feels Different But After Awhile Like A Month Or So Whatever You Use Just Start Feeling Normal-----ive Had A Pro Tell Me That The Interlock Slows Hand Speed----b.s.----its Totally Up To You----but Make Sure Whichever One You Use Your Placing Your Hands On Correctly-----how You Connect The Two Is Your Choice----thanks

Re: Lock your fingers or not? i used the nterlock grip, thought it was cool. but now it hurts to do it, so i went back to the over lap. looking back i now see that it hurt because i was gripping the club to hard durng the down swing and i was squeezing my fingers over and over again.

Re: Lock your fingers or not? I have always believed that the interlocking grip is as good as the overlapping Vardon grip, but I have recently changed my mind. Read the series of articles called "The Lost fundamentals of Ben Hogan" at http://www.golfinternationalmag.com Note that a "deep" version of the interlocking grip predisposes to a long thumb and a tendency towards an elevated clubshaft during the takeaway. The author regards a "shallow" version of the interlocking grip as being OK. Based on my personal experience with the interlocking grip, I find his arguments persusasive. I have therefore reverted to a Vardon overlapping grip. Jeff.

Re: Lock your fingers or not? good artical. now i got to cut off my thumb. its too long and not neat. kidding~ now putting the club in the plam of my hand and not resting on my fingers it looks strange, the thumb looks long and the v is really open. movingit back to toward the cent closes it. hey it all most looks like the photo!

Re: Lock your fingers or not? Personally, I'm an overlap/vardon gripper. Only by preference, no other reason. Find it more comfortable than interlocking. Have been told that the only reason you will ever get blisters, regardless of the grip used, will be pressure. Gripping too tight leads to calluses/blisters...
