| Re: Homemade swings Absolutely nothing wrong with sticking the right arm to the body for chipping, since we are interested in accuracy for the chip and not power. In the full swing however you need both, and the right arm leaving the side and returning accomodates both of these. Sticking the right arm in a full swing reduces the arc, which translate to less clubhead speed. Bigger arc translate to more time and distance to build speed, which translate to more distance, returning the right arm to the side, gets you back to accuracy, in path of the swing, arc and clubface impact. As to the headcover drill, never heard it used for the right arm, just the left arm in right handed swing, goes back the old connected swing theory. Last edited by GoNavy; 01-12-2007 at 03:42 AM. |

| Re: Homemade swings like gonavy said, keeping it too close will slow down your swing. The right arm does add speed and imagine in thrwoing a baseball what would happen if you keep the right arm close in the wind up. But if it works for you and keeps it straighter, go for it. |
