my swing video

Hey guys new to the forum, i took a lesson before old man winter hit us here in chicago. I've been doing drills when i've had the chance and been practicing my swing. I took some vids to see if i'm making any progress. I'm trying to stop my over swinging since it was my biggest problem. hopefully you guys can find the little things. I'm open to any suggestion, if you think it's terrible feel free to say. It will only make me better. thanx

Re: my swing video

What swing style are you trying to use? I noticed that you posted this question in an OPS forum as well.

I have looked at your video and I think that your swing style appears to be compatible with an "arm swing" style, and not a body-powered swing style. If you actually want to develop a lower body initiated, total body golf swing style ( see http://perfectgolfswingreview.net ) with passive arms, then you would need to totally change your swing. However, any criticism that I could offer (along those lines) is meaningless if you don't agree with the golf fundamentals/principles enunciated in my review.

Jeff.

Re: my swing video

thanx jeff for the reply, i've been trying to work on a OPS but from wha you have said and other on another forum it looks like i have to retool the swing. I was advised to switch to a two plane swing, since it fits an arm swinger better, but i'll read your site to see if i can use my whole body.

Re: my swing video

overall good swing but hard to tell without a ball, grip appears ok
1) At address your weight appears to be slightly foward
2) Appear to be slightly reaching for the ball
3) As a consequence, backswing a litlle inside and a bit off balance on the follow through.
4) Try to feel more like a shortstop at address waiting for a ball.

Re: my swing video

your shoulders are WAY open at address, you need to fix that before you worry about how you are swinging the club, unless you want to play with open shoulders and know the appropriate acoomodations for it.

Re: my swing video

Both the Hardy OPS and my review of the modern. total body swing are body-powered swings. You seem to have an arm-powered swing and your body seems to respond reactively to your arm movements. If you prefer an arm-powered swing, then you should visit Leslie King's website at http://www.golfpro-online.com/tuition/lking/index.html

If you prefer a body powered swing, then you can choose between a Hardy OPS or the modern, total body swing.
