Irons

I am in need of some advice i am currently playing with the legendery Golden Bears!! i am hitting my 5 iron further than my 3 and 4. What should i do?

I'd check the clubs first for proper lie and loft across the set. Then I'd practice with the 3 and 4 irons a bit more. Just to make sure.

You are probably making better contact with the 5 due to it's shorter shaft and more loft.

As Martin said, practice more with the 3 & 4. As they are longer have the ball a little more forward in your stance, full shoulder turn and swing steady.

Do your 3 & 4 shots carry straight?

i have got the old pro down the road to check the lie and loft everything seems to be ok!!
Brian i hit the 3&4 iron dead straight just not far enough i am talking like 130 metres at the most!!!

Experiement with the angle of attack by moving the ball around in your stance. Start at the inside of the left heel and keep moving back a ball width at a time until it clicks. You also may be like a lot of us and are a little tentative about hitting those clubs. Make sure you are making your normal shoulder turn and swing with the clubs and getting a proper release. Your hands should still lead the club head in the through swing though not by as much as your high irons. You still need lag to apply power.
