| Re: 3 wood issues. Opening your front foot will help you rotate your hips faster. That can do many different things for your swing, mostly help you attack from the inside and transfer your weight to the left side. Could be flatting your swing a bit as well.
I flare my front foot slightly more than my rear foot.
I actually take a tiny divot with my 3 wood. If you try to LIFT the ball, you are in for trouble. Let the loft of the club do the work.
I agree with OldWease, play it more like a 3 iron. If its too far front, you could be catching the turf before the ball.
