pulling the ball

I switched to a one-plane swing about a year ago and have had reasonable success, but recently I've have started pulling everything left. I was wondering If anyone had any thoughts on correcting the problem. It would be greatly apprecitated.

Re: pulling the ball

well a few problems cud be you have an outside to in swing and at impact the clubface is aiming left of where u want it to go. Or (like me) u cud be moving you left foot back during or befoe your swing and thusly pulling the club thru the ball. I dont know of ne drills tho except to get something like The Inside Approach that cud help

I have had some very great success lately by focusing on my right shoulder. I make sure I am set up parallel to my target (not closed or open). I make sure that I start the downswing by starting to rotate my left hip. From there, I make sure my right shoulder works DOWN (under your chin) while I continue to rotate my hips. If I stop rotating my hips, I will either pull it (closed face) or slice it (open face).

Re: pulling the ball

Thanks for the tip, but I'm defintely not coming from outside to in on my swing. If anything I believe I'm coming to far from the inside on my swing plane. But I will see if the left foot is the problem.

Re: pulling the ball

You might have the ball too far forward in your stance. As a result you are hitting the ball too late in your swing path. Your club is already turning behind you across your target line.
BTW ....If you are hitting a true pull shot you are not coming too far from the inside out. That is an outside in path with a square clubface shot. A hook can be caused by a too inside out swing path.

A killians red sounds pretty good right now. mmmm .....beer.

Re: pulling the ball

One other possibility is that you are stopping your rotation through the ball. The result is that the hands and arms are pulled left around the body. Try making sure that at the end of your swing your hips are fully turned so that you are squarely facing the target. Your belt can even point a little left of target at the end.
