Question Your opinion please

Hi All,

Just wondering if you could advise or give me a correction. I am hitting the ball well and consistent, but recently I have started to push the ball to the right. I have checked the most obvious, i.e. square from feet to shoulders, takeaway etc, but cant put my finger on it. With regard to grip, i am not strong or weak. I show 1/2 to 2 knuckles.

Cheers,
Robert

this happened to me on the range yesterday, found i was not firing my hips through to the target, due to my left hip ache from a game on wed.
so i was blocking out to the right slightly.if this is not your problem , try moving the ball forwards 1/2 inch or so . hope this helps

Robert,

Make sure you commit to the shot and finish with a full follow through. Also ensure your hips are clearing properly and you are rotating your wrists. A push means your swing path is inside to out with your club face square to that path, you just need to keep rotating through the shot.

Hope this helps.

Robert: There is a big difference between showing 1/2 to 2 knuckles, ie. 1/2 to 1 1/2 definitely weak to neutral and will cause fade/push because the release is weak.
On the other hand, 2 to 2 1/2 would be my choice because I would rather err on the strong side to insure the club closes and to promote good solid release.
While I agree with others that you could be hanging back too much, I would start with that grip and just make a nice smooth swing.
Cheers from Sunny Florida. Temperature was 90 today.

Re: Your opinion please

robert, is it possible you are moving ahead of the ball, on the downswing, with the upper body and leaving the club behind?
just throwing out a thought
good luck in finding the culprit

Re: Your opinion please

Probably not returning the club to its square position in time...
