Is this down swing sequence correct?

at the top of the swing, slightly bump your hip out towards the target, then at your own tempo turn your waist towards the target. This would make the waist turn the whole coiled up upper body release, and also swinging you arms to start the down swing....
i am really very confused bout this part of the swing coz i have seen and read several dfferent instructions on this...would really appreciate some help here..thanks a lot.

Re: Is this down swing sequence correct?

hi some people say you should bump the hips, and yeah you are right there is conflicting advice on this, i can only really say that whe n i went through a period of doing this it caused mayhem. i now foccus on just transfering the weight onto my rleft foot ant t ry and pool down with my back right arm. Some of the pros do seem to bump their hips- but i am most definately not a pro.

hope this helps

Re: Is this down swing sequence correct?

The hip turn begins the downswing , then the shoulder start rotating . That rotation pulls the arm through

Try that sequence.

Don't know why everyone makes this so hard, it is a simple move, take a ball, stand sideways to were you want to throw it, now throw it, what did you do, because there is NO difference between that move, and the golf swing, none....unless you throw like a girl..lol...no really after you throw the ball you will be in the same position you would be at the end of a golf swing, weight on the left side, hips and chest pointing at the target, on the toe of the right foot...body wise the action is the same, for some reason everyone can accomplish this action throwing a ball without thinking about it much, but get a golf club in their hands and they begin to analize every little detail and just get all screwed up.

Re: Is this down swing sequence correct?

Are those two actions really that similar?
