| Re: Try this tip then.....you will be amazed. Hi Guys, Just wanted to add something I've been working on. It ties in with Ians tip Gregs right hand movement. I tried this and went out at twilight the other day and shot 3 over from the back tees at the Red at Bethpage. A couple of things I put together to maintain the right hand cock 1) As the shoulders turn back on the downswing the right shoulder replaces the left shoulder - it does not go out in front of the left. To do this. imagine the spokes of a fan extending out from your shoulders. To get the right spoke to return along a circular path it almost feels as if the left shouder is pulled back and the right shoulder comes from the inside to where the left shoulder was. 2) this movement if done properly, almost forces the right hand into mainting the cocked position and the left hand flat with the club past the impact position beyond your left leg 3) The right arm should feel as if it is a piston extending straight out after impact- to get this feeling face a wall without a club - get as close as you can to the wall and swing - you will see the right arm extends straight out post impact and you will be able to look a the back of your right wrist. Sorry for rambling but hope this makes sense. it seems to be doing wonders for my game - at least this week mike. |

| Re: Try this tip then.....you will be amazed. I read Joe Dante's book a while ago but it didn't really sink in, now after having visited this site and refreshing myself I can say... Golf Swing Magic... Yes... You Can Swing Like A Pro This really works for me and I have had a 'road to damascus' moment - the bit about the right wrist movement hingeing straight back instead of up is a fantastic tip, it forces the clubface to face the ball for a little longer on the backswing and I have gained real consistency with the irons at long last - I don't know how it works or why, I just know it does for me. I have been having some lessons and the pro kept trying to get me to take the claub away more squarely instead of inside - when I did manage this I'd hit the ball great, the problem was repeating it, with this 'move' I can do it all day long. Now, I just hope it continues till the weekend ! |
