| Powerhouse Golf Swing Everyone has a powerhouse. It is centered in your abdominal area. Your powerhouse is your core. Your core will give you all the power you will need. The key to dynamic balance (the ability to maintain an equilibrium thorught the swing) is to get your center of gravity low, close to the ground. The core gives your takeaway a stimulus and is the base on which your backswing is bult upon. You should feel your navel move about 2 inches laterally, then rotate it over your right knee. The downswing starts with the legs. The legs give you proper grounding. You want your weight to be driven into the ground. The legs are just reactors to the torso. The hand and arms should drop and maintain the radius to the powerhouse. Your torso will roate through impact with your hands and arms. THIS IS THE KEY!!! If you want to be powerful AND consistent, you will want to use your inner rotary action from the powerhouse through impact. Don't rely on your hands and arms to square the clubface with impeccible timing! You want a Throw-Out action from your core. The powerhouse will throw the lever assembly (your arms and the club) into the ball. That's enough for now.... | Every body/player has a concept they can understand and this gives them the confidence to implement the concept. I have no idea of how the above will improve your game, sorry about that. Just trying to understand the powerhouse bit. Would you liken it to driving your car round a bend hard all the way from entry to exit!! Or what I would prefer to see/understand is a gradual increase in power and to allow the engine to reach the apex/impact of the bend before you hit the gas, through to a good finish. We can’t all emulate John Daily!! I’m way too old lol… I have a bad gut feeling about the sound of Powerhouse. As I have said before we all have our own concepts... | I agree with somewhat of what has been said But there are a few things people should know before going to the practice facility and trying this out on their own However there are three different body types that play golf Endomorph Hands and arms repsond to the body Ectomorph Body responds hands and arms start the swing Mesomorph This applies to some one who is a endomorph more rounded body and more muscular who relies on leverage and rotation to square the club at impact. He relies upon these things because his arms are shorter shus he cannot create any arc width On the opposite side of the spectrum an ectomorph Lean musluar build Relies on more lateral movement he does this beucase of his arc width and by having a lateral movement in this swing it gives him sufficient time to square the clubface up at impact. What was said was true but only for certain people with the matching body type which I have described. What applies to one person does not apply to all If you tried to apply a rotational swing that fits a smaller man who is more barrel chested (Craig Stadler) to say a ectomorph a (Freddie Couples) They would lose their swing because their body types don't match each others swings

| This swing is universal, for everyone... In fact, the runner-up in the US Amateur uses it...can't think of his name right now... He hit the ball as hard as he could without the fear of losing accuracy..... ![]() Using the body building terms can confuse...Reminds me of the ol' LAWS of Golf book... | Fitness and Golf Winsor, I agree fitness is important in the game of golf. I believe your first post was about the flexing of Abdominal Muscles and Torso Spinal Rotators. Warming up and stretching is invaluable to play consistant golf. I also use swimming and a stretching and workout regiment when possible to supplement the game. Swimming and golf I think go together well. Swimming increases the flexability, cardiovascular endurance, and creates an overall balance in the body. The tempo and rythmn of swimming and golf are the same also. If your game lacks balance a good relaxed swim will help get you up to speed in both. If I had to pick 1 other thing to help my game swimming would be it. GolfBald
