Re: hand position vs. lie angles I'm spanking the ball with my lie angles adjusted. They were 1* upright, and now they are standard. I am no longer missing left. If your hands are LOW when you set up with a driver, it could cause you to take the club back too upright. With your driver, what was your ball flight like? As for irons, you can get away with an upright takeaway. In fact, I have been hitting the ball better than ever since I made my takeaway/backswing more upright.

Re: hand position vs. lie angles I don't get this higher hands - lower hands. what do you do to make them higher? bend the elbows, straighten the knees or back, push them in and out, To me there is only one place for the arms and hands at address and that is hanging straight down from the shoulders

Re: hand position vs. lie angles Hands SHOULD purposely be SLIGHTLY higher for the driver than for the irons. To answer Brian, by higher hands I mean further away from the body, that is, not quite hanging straight down. A VERY slight "reaching". Just a bit. To illustrate, as VERY general rule, with correct posture for the irons, you should be able to put a fist between your front thigh and the butt end of the club at address, the little finger side against your thigh and the middle knuckle of the thumb at the butt of the club). With the driver, make the same fist but extend the thumb, like you’re hitchhiking. With the driver the little finger side of the fist against your thigh and now the tip of your thumb touching the butt of the club. Again, this is not hard and fast rule, but more of generalization to illustrate the difference in hand position for the driver. V1 Golf Academy Look at the differnce in Baddeley's arms and hands at address between "video 2" and "video 3" Hands further away from the body with the driver also "raises" them. Note the arms are not hanging straight vertical with the driver. Last edited by kbp; 05-18-2007 at 04:35 PM.

Re: hand position vs. lie angles Yes, I agree with the hinging of the wrists (not really higher or lower) as i said the arms should hang straight down from the shoulders in their natural position, different length clubs will make you stand nearer or further from the ball thus creating steeper or shallower address planes.
