Agree 100%. I use a 3/4 backswing 75% of the time. Even with my driver. I may be loosing yards, but I can hit my 7i 165 yards with a 3/4 turn.
Remember, the word is "turn" not "lift." Turn your shoulders, don't just lift your arms. You may find that a 3/4 turn works well and gives you a nice, tight backswing that is much more consistent.
