Pete Cowen - Europe's Number 1 Coach Hi there, Pete has just released a couple of DVDs. DVD Preview Has anyone here yet had chance to watch them, particularly the Advanced Swing Session one? Or has anyone had any experience of his teaching methods? Pete seems to have a good reputation especially in Europe where he coaches the like of Stenson, Bickerton, Bjorn. Also well done to Bob Torrance coaching Padraig to his Open triumph. Thanks

Re: Pete Cowen - Europe's Number 1 Coach hi rackster when i get like that i tend to try and slow everything down so i can get everything back in time, i try and only hit the ball 75% of the distance i normaly do and i find i tend to get back into my swing and everything seems to start to come together again, with me i tend to start to swing to fast and my rhythem goes and i start hit the ball mostly to my right with no fade on it. bill

Re: Pete Cowen - Europe's Number 1 Coach Hi again all I have just purchased Pete Cowens DVD "The Pyramide of Learning- an Advanced Swing Lesson". It is a very good instructional DVD and was well worth the £17.09 (inc P&P) I paid for it. I have not had chance to put all of Pete's methods into practice on the course or practice range through hitting balls, but I have used his drills at home (when will the summer arrive in the UK?). I have to say that I have not been playing too well of hitting the ball that great recently, and I think my body action has not been that good. In terms of body turn I have always been a Leadbetter disciple in terms of the body action he advocates in his first instructional video and book "The Golf Swing". I have to say that Pete's description of the body turn is much better and simpler. I have included a link below from the Dizzy Heights website (Pete's DVD distributor) below showing the spiral staircase drill. Turn your sound on and scroll down. Home Dizzy Heights golf products, golf tips, golf training aids, golf instruction, golf tuition, golf lessons, golf equipment, golf tees, golf accessories, golf swing, mp4, ipod golf Leadbetter's body turn involves a slight lateral bump of the right hip at the start of the swing. I feel this can lead to a sway and not enough coil. Pete's body turn begins from the ground up, and for me I can feel more coil and control with Pete's method. I used the spiral staircase image on Thursday night on the practice ground and saw an immediate improvement. I only watched the DVD on the Friday, and worked on the spiral staircase theory by watching the above link before I went off to practice. The DVD is on for approximately 60 minutes and provides a very structured format to building and improving your swing. The DVD says its an "advanced lesson", but Pete puts his ideas over in simple no nonsense language and with good explanation. Can't wait to get on the range on Thursday to give the exercises and techniques ago. Incidentally the DVD was originally on Amazon for £14.99, it is now £22.99, so maybe they have put the price up for such a good product. You can get the DVD cheaper through Dizzy Heights or Pete's own website for £14.99 plus P&P. Last edited by Rackster; 08-18-2007 at 03:31 PM.
