| Need a firmer shaft? ok i have had my nike sasquatch for about 2-3years now and lately i finally have a driver swing to the point that i can hit it straight...get a lot of my hip power into it...and just leave me easy second shots...im hitting the ball around 275 maybe even close too 300 sometimes and have started to generate a lot of backsping ne ways i have a regular flex shaft on my sasquatch....its one of the original ones not the newer sumo ones...ne ways almost every time i hit the ball it feels like the head it giving in quite a lot (maybe a inch) but i have also seen pictures where the pro's clubheads and actually kind of behind the shaft when they make contact too so is it ok?...does it even cause more backspin?...thanks! |

FWIW, a guy had me try his 46" R flex driver. It had that same 'the ball is offering a ton of resistance and the head is lagging' feel at impact - and I promptly snap hooked it. Re-tee, same feel. Ball mark a little toe side, but still, that bending feel had me working my hands far too much. Now, perhaps xiggy doesn't need a different flex, perhaps all that's needed is lower torque.

| Re: Need a firmer shaft? lower torque?...and yeh i guess i just thought it could loose some yardage but i guess not today i won a junior golf tournament...i hit an 88 par is 71...pretty good since im only 15...only one drive was bad (harder i swing lower my club goes...so i forgot to tee it low enough but it was still very playable) not a single one out of bounds.....then at the end of 18 me and another kid had to have a playoff for first place..we both bogey'd teh first hole...then i birdie'd a par 5 which i have never done before (on that particular hole)..so overall i love my drives because they are extremely playable..now somtiems there is a very slight slice...or slight draw...but its always good (i dont mind hitting from the rough since i do tend to hit many practice shots from it) i shot a 46 on the front nine at 42 on the back...and i finally got to use my driver through most of the front nine (wide fairways but they made the take offs from the tee's very narrow with tree's) so i guess i am satified |
