My swing...

Wasn't able to upload this in the videos section as it wasn't in the correct format. Not the greatest quality, but I'd appreciate any comments on it.

Re: My swing...

Hi Mike,

Looks like a good one plane swing. Difficult to see from the video what is happening. Are you happy with the results?

Re: My swing...

The second swing I caught the ball a little fat, but both times the ball went straight and with a nice trajectory. I changed my grip the day I filmed them swings so I was feeling a bit akward. The problem is I think too much and swing back quite slowly because of this. Today I played a round of golf and just decided to swing back smooth and let it flow as it were and didn't think too much about the technical side. I must say I was striking the ball a lot better.

Re: My swing...

Were you also swinging smoother on the way down during that round? Because the second swing appears to be rushed like you must catch a bus. Let me ask you, how can you strike the ball properly when you swing out of control? When you're in control of the club, you can strike the ball properly. When you strike the ball properly, you transfer much more momentum from the club to the ball. It serves no purpose to produce all that power if you can't transmit it to the ball.

Instead of thinking about the backswing, focus on striking the ball properly.

When you want to send the ball farther, resist the temptation to strike it harder. Instead, deloft the club by striking the ball farther back in your stance. Think of it as changing from a 7i to a 6i on the fly.
