I'm a new golfer - took a class through a community college to learn the basics. I found it quite confusing for someone who had never even held a golf club before. I have some serious issues with posture when taking a full swing - seem to top the ball - but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! How do you find a pro for some one on one that can work well with a beginner and simplify, simplify, simplify! I play once or twice a month but now the weather is actually down to 101, I might make it more often! Thanks for any advice!

Hello Renie there is a lot of information on this site that will help you,but i think getting a pro to have a look at you is a good place to start.you must have a course near to you where you can get good one on one coaching. In the meantime you can work on your grip while watching t.v and your posture indoors so they begin to feel comfortable.these are i feel are 2 of the most important fundementals to good golf.PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.also if your looking for a good read i would reccomend the eight step swing,i must have read it ten times.

Finding a pro Thanks Cabbie. There are probably hundreds of golf courses within a 50 mile radius. It's hard to find one that's good with beginners! I appreciate your response. This is a great site and I've picked up more here than during the whole class!
