The right hand

In the past I have been known to push the ball to the right when miss hits occur. Yesterday I was at the course practicing my 40 60 and 80 yard wedge shots when I tried something. I held the club very lightly in my fingers, no palm at all and tried not to use my right hand at all. I kept the feeling very light and It felt as though I had more control. Was this just coincidence or something worthwhile to keep doing.
