The Great White North or Bust

I just scored a great job in northern BC.Canada. Hudson Hope, about 45 minutes outside Fort St. John. Anyone here from there? I hear the hunting and fishing are great, how's the Golf!!

Wow, that's a LONG way north. You should have about 18-20 hours of daylight for June and most of July!!! I am in Edmonton and we have very long days in the summer.

Re: The Great White North or Bust

Hi Gord962,

Land of the midnite sun! When do the courses open up there? In Nelson, southern BC, we start our season around April 1st on the lakeside clubs and play until Nov. I assume the golf season up there opens later and closes soomer.

Just a few days ago I was thinking ' only six more weeks til tee off'. Now I'm thinking 'May, June,!?' How about the rain? We get rained out quite a bit in the spring.

Nelson, eh? I worked with a a pro from Nelson who is now the head pro at Grey Wolf in Panorama. I used to work at Radium Hot Springs Resort.

Courses here in Edmonton are usually open in mid April and golf is pretty much wrapped up just before the last week in October. We haven't seen much for snow at all this year, other than the 2 or 3 inches that fell this week. We even had a few driving ranges open here a couple weeks ago!

Not sure about the weather in Frt St. John, but I assume they got a fair dump of snow up there - I know Jasper has a ton of snow.
