A new 9 hole PB for me

not wanting to steal bdbl's thunder but shot a PB 40 for 9 holes
swing has been a bit shaky of late not helped by well intentioned partners offering advice.
just decided to play solo and relax and stick to my preshot routine and it worked, i hit every fairway, irons were crisp and my putting and chipping was solid.

hopefully turned the corner

Well done mate and tbh I think a "40" on your course is worth more than on mine given their relative difficulty.

Tell me though what on earth are you doing taking advice from playing partners during a round; after the round, or from here to take to practice is Ok but unless you are playing with the club pro trying fix a swing on the way round normally just makes things worse.

What was the problem btw; I thought you were doing well last time you posted on subject.

i know,i know
2 regular playing partners play off single figures and ive been off the boil but their 'help' made things worse.

the problem was not completeing the backswing so all manner of faults crept in also i retired my superquad driver for now and reverted back to my cobra which i am hitting solidly which is putting me in better positions for my 2nd shots.

just a blip hopefully some of it down to playing in cr*p weather all the time!

Not completing the backswing, wrong driver??? HUH???

I thought using the 3 skills that you were not supposed to be thinking of anything but driving the nail downward through the ball. What's with all the swing thoughts mucking up your swing???

Hey, Hey,

I am only trying to help. It may have had sarcastic overtones but think about it....

When you start trying to overanalyze your golf swing and try to play with all them thoughts bouncing all around in your brain....isn't that the heart of 3 skills teaching????

Don't be so DEFENSIVE..............

Laugh a little.......Enjoy life....

Chessbum.....

okay slight over reaction!
because i havent discussed 3 skills with my playing partners they were trying to get me to adopt certain things that they do and and thats what caused the problems
been to the range today just practicing 3 skills drills and hitting the ball very sweetly.
have spoken to my partners and have asked them to keep their swing advice to themselves in future
