Weird Golf!

For the last 2 months I've developed the dreaded Shanking disease on my short wedges while on the practice ground.
But When I'm on the course I dont have any!.

I've shot 76 , 75 , 76 , and a 77 in my last 4 rounds of a handicap of 14 originally (now 11..lowest I ever was is 9).
I got a phone call yesterday to play on my golf club team where the handicap limit was 9 (lowest you could be previous year)

So I ended up playing a guy off 8 handicap and played one of my best rounds ever.
I won 4&2 and was 2 over par after 16 holes.
I played 17 and 18 and finished 3 over for a round of 74.

I'm off to play again today in competition..tommorow im playing a practice round..(for another team event..1/4 finals)...playing Sat in presidents prize and Sunday in a Foresomes match for club.

The strange thing is I feel I can play a lot better and cant figure out how I'm scoring so well playing average golf...I think the shanking on the practice ground is linked somehow..
Something weird is happening mentally in my head which is making me focus really well.

On long putts the ball is running about a foot by (when not falling in!)..and I dont know where this feeling and touch is coming from.
On 10 footers I make about 7 out of 10 now.
