Old course Magic
I have the fortune of going to St Andrews Uni. The best uni in the world for a golfer!!!

my handicap is 5. Playing the old course last week I was on fire. Birdied 9 and 10 then bogied 11,12. Birdied 14 then 2 pars. 1 under going down 17- the road hole and holed a 10 footer for par. I'd never shot under par before so was quite nervous on the 18th tee- you can't help it anyway - its the 18th tee of the Old course!

Anyway I hit my drive a bit thin but it rolled up just short of the road leaving 120 in. My partners were saying- just miss the valley of sin and youve got par so I hit 9 iron to be safe. Nailed it straight at the pin! Walking up to the hole the crowd- well 10 people sitting on benches- started shouting at me- turns out my ball was sat on the lip and had toppled in about 30 seconds later as I was walking up for an EAGLE and 3 under par. What topped it off was that as I walked passed the russacks- some guy lent out the window and handed me a whisky sying - Great shot son youve made my holiday! - it made my week!

That even beats blagging myself a ticket to the R&A 250th anniversary dinner!

The only time I'll probably eagle the 18th on the old course is via the TW games...
