Longest Hole in One ??

Well its my first ever ace and the longest of anybody I know who has had an ace.
Par 4 297 yards slight wind behind, a 270 yard drive to the top of a hill then it gently runs down to the green. When I got ther no ball in sight then a kindly gentleman came running over from the 16 th tee and very excitedly told me it was "in the hole" as you Americans say. Overjoyed at this i exclaimed "it was my drive" over and over again. Left the clubhouse a lot poorer then when I went in and mw wife is at a loss why I should buy the malt whiskies but she is a woman and has never played.
Has anyone had longer?

Congrats. Must be a hell of a feeling. Not in the same league but I holed my first 30+ foot putt on Sunday. Danced like a child at a party.

An albatross and an ace... and you still had to buy!

Congratulations Keith. Well done. In 30 years of playing golf I've never even seen an ace!
However, a guy at our club aced a 303 metre (about 330 yd) par 4 a couple months ago. The four in front were still putting out and were really pissed off when they thought someone was hitting up on them. They soon forgave the guy when they realized he had holed out from the tee.

I never aced and neither has my teaching pro. Today, I teed up, hit the ball and never saw it land. My playing partner said he saw something out of the corner of his eye go over the edge (OB) about 20 yards in front and to the right.

I teed up another and slammed that up onto the green and it went in. The green was above the tee and my friend said he saw it disappear ... talk about being gutted

I witnessed one hole in one several years ago. Guess it had to be about 9 years ago since I wasn't able to drink. It was the group playing behind us on a 220 yard par 3.

The guy offered to buy us drinks since we ran over to the hole and confirmed it was in there for them. But alas, none of us were 21.

The group didn't even finish the round. We had 5 holes to play and when we got back to the club house the guy was already stumbling drunk.

That is the tough way to take a par.

depending on the stakes when you went ob you prolly should have pitched from the point of entry or gone to the drop zone. Nice par, did you sign that scorecard yet?

Yeah and it was about 40 MPH crosswinds too. The first shot knocked me slightly off balance causing a shank. Today I had a lesson and did the back 9 afterwards. Still very windy and I lost 6 balls ... oh well, forget that one lol

The penalty for an OB shot is stroke and distance, meaning you must replay the shot from the original position. A hazzard can be played from the original point of entry, no nearer the hole.
