Post Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

The 2008 GTO Open has been provisionally booked for the 13th September at Hersham Village Golf Centre, Surrey. The day will consist of breakfast and coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf, 3skillsgolf presentation and range session, dinner, presentation of prizes. For those staying for the evening there will be a venue organised near by.

I will be creating a seperate thread for the confirmed event within the next 48 hours with further event details.

Looking forward to it.

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

Almost deffo Yes for me with a few questions...
  • Is this now just Saturday 13th?
  • Rough idea of cost of day/golf (excluding drinks/meals) etc.?
  • What time do we meet/start?
  • When is likely finish of proceedings (excluding evening activities)

It would be a shame if you couldn't make it Keith.

Greg - as this now sounds like it's going to be a 1 day event can we somehow manage it so that we can get most people to attend. It would be good to have Keith there as one of the original 'Arden Gang'. I don't envy you having to try to organise these kinds of events; I've done it myself and know how difficult it is to accommodate everyone.

Post Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

ok... As there are a few from last year who can't make the 13th September I am going to move the event to late October... I know we are taking more of a chance on the weather, but it would be nice to get all the guys from last year attending plus a few new faces.

Either the 18th or 25th October 2008

The cost should be around £55 per head which will include:
  • Coffee on arrival
  • 18 holes of golf
  • Dinner
  • Presentation of prizes
  • 3skillsgolf range demo
PLEASE REPLY TO THIS AND INCLUDE YOUR INTEREST AND AVAILABILITY ON THESE TWO DATES. Thank You.

Greg Hutton
18th October = YES
25th October = YES

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

Both these dates are fine for me.

Look forward to seeing all the 'old faces' and hopefully plenty of new ones.

To everybody in the UK - if you are able to, why not come along.

It should be a good day - good golf, you'll be able to put 'faces' to names of people you have been 'chatting' to on the forum (they are generally all nice, normal people !) and you'll hopefully pick up a few free 'tips' on your golf swing from the pros.

The more the merrier.

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

Hi,

Just found this thread, and would be very interested in playing in this tournament. Even though it is something around a 5 and half hour drive each way (live in Newcastle)

Can play on either the 18th or 25th.

Just a quick querie, do i need an official handicap, as iam not currently a member of club but have been playing off around 25 when playing stableford recently.

Cheers

Tom

Is this event open to all?

If so, either the 18th or 25th work for me.
