If it is, just a thought on the days proceedings, would it be possible to have a 3skills group lesson on the morning (if the selected course golf pro will allow it) then have the stableford on the afternoon.

Also is anyone up for a north v south fourballs and singles comp? if the north win you southern shandy drinkers have to drink proper beer if you happen to get lucky and beat us then I suppose its pimms n lemonade for us lol
No offense meant

Keith
This sounds good for me and would love another chance of meeting up for the callenge. Only one problem is who do I play for as I am now a Northerner in the south

Cheers

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

Hi

Just found this thread - is it an open open? Any more details and where can I sign up!

I'm based on the South Coast so everyone is a northerner to me!

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

well done fellas... glad to see you are keen

I am starting to get ideas for the next GTO UK Open. I think it would be best for everyone if meet somewhere in the midlands again???

After the first GTO event the consensus seemed to be that we could have enjoyed ourselves just as much at a smaller club that was not so costly and was perhaps a bit more grateful of our custom i.e. minus the ****ing annoying starters

Lets use this thread for the ideas...

Looking forward to it already

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

LMAO who you kidding Slats high capper indeed, thought those 3skills were giving you almost pro status

Venue ? anywhere suits me but would like to price a 2 round event if people are up to it.
I.E
Say afternoon north v south friendly competition then party time on the night with the stableford open comp next day?
I know you can get 1 night accommodation with 36 holes for around £90 that includes bed breakfast and evening meal, possible even cheaper if its a society booking??

http://www.yourgolftravel.com/venues/...hull-park.html

That just an example

Opinions please

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

Ignoring the geography for the moment how about organising a two day event, as suggested by Keith, but on a mix and match basis with a bonus 3 Skills event. For example:

Day 1: Society Day at Hersham Village (the 3 Skills base) with group, or individual, 3Skills coaching before or after.

Overnight: Somewhere like the Travelodge in Kingston upon Thames which would be a good base for:

Day 2: Society day at any number of reasonable courses - Malden, Surbiton, Richmond, Coombe (the cheaper of the two Coombes that is ) etc.

Re: The 2nd UK GTO Open ?

Coming from way up north east (Hartlepool) that would have to be a two possibly three night stay for me (taking into account traveling times etc) but if the prices are right i don't mind.
Although I am sure we can persuade the 3 skills team and a course (central to everyone) to put the same sort of package together?
Nice hearing from you Kev what you reckon you up to a bit of group teaching?

Cheers keith
