swing trouble

hello
I'm only a beginner and having a lot of trouble with my swing.
I try standing in the correct posture like the pictures in the books and when I swing and hit the ball it goes to the right and only about 50 yards. Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?? much needed advice as it took me over 60 strokes to get round a 9 hole par 3.
Thank You!!

Re: swing trouble

Becky, one post is fine, you do not need to post the same thread in multiple forums. Please book an appointment with your local pro to get some lessons. This is ALWAYS the ebst way to start when new to the sport of golf, no matter age, sex, skill level, or anything else that may make a person think they are above seeing a golf professional about a lesson.
