open face soup sandwich

I have a bad slice. Starts off straight, then fades. Far. This is only with driver/fairway woods, but I can hit my utility/rescue/hybrid clubs perfect. Anybody got drills/techniques that can fix or help the problem? I can tell from the bottom of my woods, plus the fact that it starts off straight, that my club face is open. Anybody have a similar problem that they fixed?

stronger lefthand grip, makesure you can see 2 knuckles on your left hand when you look down at address, the clubface might seem a little closed to you but still give it a swing

Re: open face soup sandwich

i used to have a similar problem of a horrible open face push-slice.

*i fixed it by strengthening grip a bit,

*but the main thing was ( i know this sounds wierd) but sometimes my right hand will take over and hold the face open so i used a 2 and sometimes 3 finger overlap (one finger on the club really) and that helped me to have less of a right hand role. then do back to your old grip.

*also remember having a very loose grip and arms. to much tension can prevent you from releasing the club. almost feel that your grip is so loose that the club feels almost heavy and hard to bring to the top.

you need good grips on your club, tension is a swing killer! hold the club in your fingers and not the palms.

Re: open face soup sandwich

Thanks for the replies. I'm willing to bet that my left hand grip is too weak. I am a left handed golfer, hockey, base ball batter, kicker, but throw, write, whatever right handed. So my right hand grip is probably too strong. Never thought of that before. Thanks for the advice. Anyone else have a similar situation?
