Long Drivers

Hey, are any of you folks playing a long driver (over 44.5 inches)? I have been using an SMT 455 Deep Bore 9.5* with a stiff Accuflex VS 339 at 47". It had been working out great for me, then I started hooking and over drawing everything. Could it be due to the extreme flat swing these create (my case anyhow)?
At any rate, I am cutting it down to standard. The extra yardage, in my opinion, is not worth screwing up my swing.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

Re: Long Drivers

Cut It Down To Standard 45 Inches For A Graphite Shaft.

The Longer The Shaft The Flatter Your Swing Plane
This Is What Is Causing You To Hook The Ball

I Would Also Check Your Grip
Your Grip Will Influence Both Your Path And Sometimes And Plane

Make Sure The V's Formed By Your Thumb And Your Forefinger Point In Between Your Chin And Your Right Shoulder

Exclamation Re: Long Drivers

I have,

One SMT 52", SMT 51", SMT 50" and Wilson PD5 48".

I think that if you want to be long drive player, you havt practise lot of use longer shaft´s. and remember when you are buying the shaft there is lot of
models where is big defferences, becouse in long shaft 10 gr wheight mean´s a lot when you are swingin. Also Your Driver head should be light, becouse it is much harder to swin with lond driver if it has heavy club head.
