| Driver Woes, Need Advice Lady golfer here.... I had my first golf lesson a couple of years ago, but could not find time to devote to learning and/or playing. However, five months ago I started back and have been scheduling lessons every three weeks. My handicap is currently 24 and I have gotten to the point where I am hitting on average 150 yards with my 5 iron. The trouble is not with my irons nor most of my woods. In fact, my swing with all my clubs (BUT my driver) is becoming very consistent and reliable. My trouble is with my driver -- I am NOT consistent and my distances vary greatly (from 165 - 220). My problems range from casting, swaying, and/or lack of weight shift in the downswing. If I continue like this, I will never be able to get my handicap down. Do you have an assessment on why I may be having problems with this club, and any suggestions on how to start correcting them (my driver is a Cleveland Women's Launcher, 12 degree). |

| Re: Driver Woes, Need Advice The driver is just a confidence thing, grip about 1 inch down the shaft for a few weeks and when impact feels solid and your hitting it consistantly move your hand back up the grip. The biggest problem people have is trying to hit the driver too hard. ps welcome to GTO |
