Re: slicing the ball

Be sure you keep your head down, eyes on ball until it has disappeared down fairway. If you raise your head before clubface reaches the ball it will cause clubface to be open at impact. Result=slice or even a shanked shot.

Re: slicing the ball

hi
a slice is caused by an out to in swing or the clubface thats open at impact or both, try and swing so you come fron in to out more.

Re: slicing the ball

Try staying down and through the shot without lifting up at impact.
Try keeping the grip pressure very light to give the wrists a chance to hinge
Try moving the ball position so you are turning behind it and staying behind it at impact
Try getting a little bigger shoulder turn going back
Try shifting your weight to the right foot going back and to the left foot through impact
Try getting or making an Inside Approach or stick an old shaft in the ground over your ball so you have to hit under it
Try placing a head cover along the outside of your ball pointing to right field so you swing along that line coming through without hitting the cover
Try using a stronger grip ie, left hand see 3 knuckles and right hand knuckles facing the ground; when you hook, you can move the right hand more so the palm is facing the target
Just a few things to try, let me know which if any work.

Re: slicing the ball

I finally cured my slice the day I discovered that no matter how much I relaxed my right arm or kept my elbow close to the hip for an inside swing path, I was still "hunching" my right shoulder at the top. So even tho I was bringing my hands down and though an inside path, I had already pushed the clubhead out by hunching my shoulder at the top of the swing. Check the top of your swing, see if you hunch your shoulder like I did.

Re: slicing the ball

I doubt that is his problem in and of itself.
