| Re: Can't hit ball with the sweet spot Instead of buying thoose expensive impact checkers, I stick a piece of masking tape very lighty over my club face, and the ball will impart the dimples or the ball to show your impact.
I an NOT a Pro, so don't take my word for this, but it works for me, and you can try it.
As far as hitting it higher, I had a problem with that too for a while. A big factor is your lateral tilt (to the right for right handed golfers) to get your head behind the ball. and wether you are hitting you ball on the upswing or downswing. if you have a lot of tilt, the further you place the ball foward, the easier it is to hit the bottom of the face. I have practiced hitting the top of my face to get lowspin and I place the bottom 5th of the ball at the top of my driver, (that would be to high for most) and place the ball inline with the outside of my left heel. But my head is usually at my right foot to hit the ball during my upswing and hit the top of my face. Hope something among all that rambling help. |
