Re: need the draw Three things to try: 1. make sure you are transferring your weight with driver especially. Even set up with 70% of weight on right foot to make sure weight goes there on backswing. 2. good shoulder turn-don't over do it but make sure you get 80-90 degrees-with spine angle level 3. stay behind the ball at impact especially with driver otherwise you really will slice. common problem people get ahead too much in a rush to get to impact. Take your time. I take a nice slow backswing to get my timing started right-if it starts in tune, it has a better chance of ending that way.

Re: need the draw I feel your pain. I spent months changing my normal ball flight to a slight draw. The above info about an in-to-square-to-in is absolutely a must. I spent a lot of $$$ learning this. Second, a weak grip should help you get your hands through the ball promoting the ball to draw. Getting your hands through the ball is important in turning the shot left and getting good distance from you shots. You should also work on extending your club down the target line after impact as you make your follow through. You may notice at first you are pulling or hooking the ball, but as this becomes more natural for you that should be easier to control. Hope this helps.

Re: need the draw I am trying to follow the suggestions in this forum. I have been trying the RHD for about a week now and every day I think I have found my swing only to find I cannot repeat the feeling the next day. My biggest problem is comming at the ball from the inside while staying behind the ball. When I do what I think this is, I push to the right with a fade. I tried putting an 'X' on the side of the ball and hitting that and almost took the guys head off next to me on the range. I can come from the inside but will always push while staying behind the ball creates fat or thin shots everytime. The more I try to practice these improvements the worse I seem to get. But I'm determined to stick with it.

Re: need the draw You have to release which will square the clubface: How do you do this?:: 1. grip very light and hands not opposing one another but working together 2. completing your backswing/wrist hinge 3. manually rolling the wrists before impact to square the face One, two, or all. Also, remember, staying behind the ball takes timing, so go slow and don't get too far behind or two much ahead.

Re: need the draw Sounds like good advice but..... You say the hands are not opposing each other but working together. Please elaborate. And about rolling the hands/wrists to square the clubface. That is where I really mess up. So far I have hit a lot of push slices and fat shots trying that.

Re: need the draw caljax: a good drill is the split hand drill; take your normal left hand grip then put the right hand on the club below where you normally would and notice that the hands do not touch. Swing with this grip and you will get that inside feel. Then, take your normal grip and duplicate that feel. When I say hands opposing one another, I mean when you take your grip your hands should not fight one another for control. Left hand is the ball flight hand, right hand is the speed hand. Taking a weak grip with left and having the right below it allows the hands to work together and allows maximum wrist cock. If you were to take a weak grip with left and had the right immediately opposite, hands would fight.

Re: need the draw I thought too soft a flex in a shaft would encourage an exaggerated draw or hook, not a slice. I mean, it makes sense to me that it might leave the face open, but everything I've read has said if it's too STIFF, it might leave the face open.

Re: need the draw keep a strong left hand/wrist. make sure that when you are holding your club (right hand) that the little gap between your thumb and the inside part of your hand is pointed at your right shoulder so that your wrist turns over through the swing, causing the draw.
