| Re: Slice question.. Quote:
Yes, I am so familiar with that 200 yard shot, then off to the right for 50 - it's the push slice I had just two days ago. The backward press is only there on the setup, don't over think about the press - just focus on pushing your left shoulder straight back and your shoulder turn complete - then just let go. Remember, letting go doesn't involve effort, take a nice easy swing and the balls will go straight. When I tried to increase my speed I would block the ball hard right, but no slice. Today I put this whole thing to the course - and man am I happy with the results. First, I was paired up with a threesome that was playing the blues, I have always played the whites. I knew if it had been 2 days ago I wouldn't have played the blues, but I did today and finished with an 84, which is what I average from the whites. My drives were straight and long - the longest was on a par 5 that I've always had trouble with - this time, bam 270 down the pipe. Felt incredible and to have the guys ask me how long I've been playing and see their reaction that I've only played a couple of months, was priceless. I can't wait to get back out there on Thursday for my Men's League.

| Re: Slice question.. I'm waiting for some nicer weather here in Kansas to take out the video camera. If not, I'll just do it in the backyard. Just note that my setup is alot more exaggerated than the pictures of Leadbetter. But trial and error to me, is one extreme to another - then finding the medium. |
