First and second tee shots...

Guys I need some help on my tee shots... For some reason even if I stretch I can't seem to relax enough to hit any good drives when I am playing in my golf league on thursday nights...? I am too tense on my drives and always end up slicing the ball... Any good tips to cure this?

Thanks

Re: First and second tee shots...

Try not to hit the ball too hard and check your right hand grip on the club, should be facing towards the sky.

Also you might have an outside in swing plane.

Take a different club. You don't have to play your Driver, play a club which you know you can hit staight like a 5i.

Re: First and second tee shots...

I need to learn how to relax before I hit the ball... That is what I really want to learn how to do. If I need to drink a 6 pack before I start playing a round I will do that....?

Hi,

Try consciously relaxing your grip, arms and shoulders before you start your swing.

This is an excellent piece of advice.
since your faults seem to be tention based then you have to tee off with a club that is going to instill confidence and more importantly get you onto the fairway.
cheers
