Thumbs up woods that won't slice

My friend got a driver from wallmart it is a wilson driver and says hyperdrive 10.5 degree on the bottom. I have tried every way I know to get it to slice and cannot do it. I have trouble with any NORMAL driver to not have a slice so how is it with this one hitting it as hard as I like it won't slice. If anyone has any ideal I would love to hear it. Thanx in advance.

Re: woods that won't slice

I bought the same Wilson driver and I found it hard not to slice, FInally threw it away and got an ADAMS Ovation. Added 20 yards and no slice unless I try to overhit. Still looking at another driver to get over the 250 mark regularly. ANyone have experience with the KRANK Red Hot Chili Pepper?

Re: woods that won't slice

Can’t speak with any authority yet, but I just bought a Tayor Made R5 N driver and am waiting for her to make it from the States to Manila to complete my bag. From everything I have read, this baby is supposed to greatly reduce slice and pull and give an average hitter a good 240-250 yards, even on less than perfect swings. If you get it good, it is supposed to give close to 300! One need only an 85% swing apparently. A friend of mine has one (for righties so I can’t use it). He is shorter than I am and has a controlled, effortless-looking swing off the tee. He easily gets 230 yards. I don’t think I’ve seen him hit it under 200 in recent rounds, even off the heel.

I hope it is all it is supposed to be for me also. I swing harder and faster than he does, so my expectations run high (dangerous, I know). Will let you know after I start hitting her next week (I’m giddy as a kid on Christmas).

Cheers!

Re: woods that won't slice

Although I cannot find any specs on this driver, I'm sure it's something crazy like a 4º closed face - this will keep you from slicing.

It's not unlike the 'No more Bananas' driver, with it's 8º closed face.

Just an educated guess.
