I believe you are speaking about rythm, or tempo. try counting, 1 at to top of swing, 2 at impact, and 3 at finish.

The counting is a good one. It seems so simplistic, but it works. V J Singh does the counting thing all the time. There are variables in the count that you can work with, such as "oooonnnneee (drawn out for slower back swing), aaand (slight pause at the top), two (downswing), three (finish and looking at ball flight)", depending on your own rhythym.
