Golf Bag accesories

I was just wondering, besides basics, what else would be beneficial to put in your golf bag

Re: Golf Bag accesories

Hi James,

Great Thread i'm sure everyone can fill us in with "WHATS IN YOUR BAG"

Apart from the nesessities I carry plenty of water not pop and some fruit usually bananas, I also carry my yardage chart, on it are numbers from all parts of each hole on my home course, this is for when I have reached the green easy with no wind in the past, this helps with club selection.

I also carry baby wipes in summer to keep my hands and face fresh, when it's hot in the UK you sweat.

Ian.

I have a little make shift first aid kit - band aids, pain killers, hydrogen peroxide, etc - you never know what may happen. I also carry sun screen and bug repelant.

Re: Golf Bag accesories

I accessorize with a towel, a cool watch - it's a carabeaner with a watch built in, bug dope, SPF 50 sunscreen, and two 1L bottles of water. But my favourite accessories are balls and tees (I've got a little caddy that holds two balls and 6 tees, and 3 ball markers).

Re: Golf Bag accesories

I carry the following in my bag:

long tees and short tees (all wooden with my name on them)
a few ball markers (about the size of a quarter, also with my name on them)
a dozen golf balls (I use Top Flite Tour Ace golf balls)
3 gloves (I use Etonic Tour cabretta leather gloves, Ladies Large size)
a pitchfork
a groove brush
R&A rule book.

3 pencils with erasers on the end (also with my name on)
a black sharpie marker to mark my golf balls and to sign autographs
a set of black & brown shoe laces

I carry 6 replacement soft spikes for my Adidas AD75 golf shoes

6 band aids
6 headache tablets
6 throat lozenges
a small pack of tissues
a tube of lip balm
a tube of sunscreen
a small tube of disinfectant cream
a spare set of sunglasses (normally with yellow lenses to interchange with the black ones fitted in my playing sunglasses). I use OTC Spire II's. I use yellow lenses in the early morning or late in the afternoon and on dullish days.

1 litre Water
1 litre of Energy drink
a few Bite size chocolates
a few energy bars
a banana or two

Um, some days with variable weather I will also take a sleeveless pullover and a waterproof top.

Geez, what else ...

Oh yes, my golf note book for measurements, notes I make about clubs I hit, breaks on the green, sketches of the green complexes and stuff.

Geez, what else ...

In my locker room bag I also have a spare set of Adidas AD75 shoes, a pair of pants, a shirt, a sewing kit, a spare cap, a dozen golf balls. In the car I carry 2 or 3 spare drivers, 4 or 5 wedges and a few other clubs I might want to change before I go out and paly.

When I played on tour, I also kept a spare set of Cleveland irons in the car just in case.

Re: Golf Bag accesories

Yeah ... it is a lot of stuff. Fully loaded, my golf weighs in at around 30kgs (66lbs). I use a plain black 10" Tour bag with my name on the front and "Kelrosa Golf Studios" (the name of my company).

I still play the Formax Tour and the Pro-Am Series here. I've played a few of the mini tours in America and in Europe. I've tried to PQ for the British Open twice and failed both times. I've also played a few events on the South American Tour (Tour de las Americas).

I don't play as much these days because travel has become very expensive. Once I move to the UK, I will start to play again and probably play 12-16 events a year while I take a break from teaching and take my family on holiday.

Re: Golf Bag accesories

That's a great thing to have with you. Yep, it puts golf into perspective.

I carried a picture of my wife and children with me once in a tournament on the South African tour. I shot 72-71 and missed the cut by 1. That was the first and only time I carried the picture.

Given all the stuff in your bag, where do you keep the clubs?

Re: Golf Bag accesories

That's why pros have those BIG fancy-looking bags and caddies!

If I carried it myself I'd leave everything out except for a few irons, maybe my driver and 3 golf balls. I'd use my shoe as a pitch repairer to cut on weight!

I'm wondering whether it's just a foible of mine but I hate plastic tees so only ever use wooden ones. Is it just me?
