Super Stick

One day while golfing with a buddy... I came up with this crazy idea... well it was a design where I would have one club with interchangeable heads... meaning you would quickly install the loft needed and change length of shaft... well somebody beat me to it.. but instead of interchangeable heads.... you simply rotate the club head to the needed loft and even to putter position. Interesting.... but seems as though the club face would wear thin since you are using the same club face for all shots! And seems the putter face would be uneven also... would you use such a club?

SUPER STICK
A full set of clubs - in one club. Easily changes from a driver through 9 - iron, putter, 3 wedges, even a chipper.
Lock tight steel hinges insure durability and high performance on the course.
Made with a Tru - Temper® steel shaft, investment cast, stainless - steel head and an Eaton Hi - Tak grip.
Weighs less than 2.5 pounds and has telescoping shaft that reduces to 24 inches. Fits in any normal carry-on bag, car trunk, or just about anywhere.

Re: Super Stick

While such a club may be fun to take on your holidays if you can't fit your clubs in the car, the sad fact is that it does not comply with the rules.

Rule 4-2 a. states: "Playing Characteristics Changed . During a stipulated round, the playing characteristics of a club must not be purposely changed by adjustment or by any other means."

Yes that's a good idea. Patent it, get in touch with some people who can manufacture this at a decent cost, and who knows you could become a millionnaire soon

Question Re: Super Stick

I just got the 'Super stick' as a gift from a friend of mine. It was her grandfathers. The problem is, it didn't have instructions for the 2 setting wheels/gears. I've looked all over and no luck. Does anyone know the setting combinations?

That would be a good one to throw at the USGA ruling committee. If you think about it, you are not actually changing he characteristics of the club. The question would be are you changing a specific club, say a 7i into something else? Not really since you are just removing a 7i head, and replacing it with say 9i head. You did not change, or adjust the actual 7i head. Now if the rule is interpeted that changing the shaft length for the various club heads being used would be non-compliant, then of course you could not use the club during any sanctioned events. Then again a 7i shaft length, is not the same as a 9i shaft length. The rule is pretty clear however, so if you adjust the 7i head to make it a 9i club, then the rule has been "bent" a little...LOL

I'd use one, legal or not, just for the heck of it. I don't keep score, play for money, or play in sanctioned events anymore, so it would be a for fun deal for me. GJS

Re: Super Stick

Similar for me.
To bring a single club on the course gives a sensation of true freedom.
