Question Swing Trainer?

hey guys.
Im a real newby... So ignorance is bliss.... I bought this club that is a Intech Swing Trainer..
It has a grip on the handle to show good hand position and it wieghs like a ton or something...lol It was really cheap so i thought it couldnt hurt...lol
The handle i get ... but what is with the wieght of the club?
Its an 8 iron so i took it out to the range, the wieght just makes it harder to swing... I would really like to know how this thing is suppose to train me other than hand positioning....
What should i be learning from it? Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks
clint

Re: Swing Trainer?

Hi Clint,

Google the Momentus swing trainer to learn about your club.

You're not supposed to be hitting full shots with this thing (I don't think), but rather working slowly through your full range of motion, to build strength in the muscles that are used in the golf swing.

Re: Swing Trainer?

i had a Momentus swing trainer the weight is supposed to prevent the club drifting off the correct swing plane path. swing the club about half a dozen times then hit a few balls with your own 8 iron. the grip and weight will help with muscle memory and give you a more repeating swing.

Talking Re: Swing Trainer?

Guys, This thing is working!!!!
Im amazed.. I have been going through the drills once or twice a day, when ever i think about it. What happens is i hold the club at each position for 5 seconds and it not only teaches me a better swing it has actually strengthened the muscles in those positions... Making the swing more of a conditioned responce... I bought this thing for like 20 something bucks at walmart... and so far ive seen results..

Thanks for the info guys,
clint

Thumbs up Re: Swing Trainer?

I was also looking into the swing setter too. Let me now how good they are and how much then improve your game. I have also been using the izzo TRI LINKS. This is something that has helped me. I got be keeping the triangle or letter " Y " through my swing so thumbs up for that.

Re: Swing Trainer?

Hi Tejay, I have been using the swingsetter and it works awesome! My shots are straighter and I have more confidence in my swing!

I recommend it for a beginner's point of view! Let me know how it works for you.

take care....
