Play like a girl and beat your mates!

Down at the range last night trying to find a consistent drive that would keep the ball in play, I experimented with swinging as slowly as possible (trying NOT to even hit a driver 150yds) and letting my right forearm turn over the left through impact - everything went dead straight with a length I could live with.
I played 3 mates (2 of whom are better than me) and murdered them with 35 points off a 14 handicap on a course I'd never played before this afternoon. Shame it took so long looking for their wayward drives though . . .

No, perhaps I should rephrase it - hit half shots and beat your mates!
I think I've perfected a method of keeping the ball on the fairway 9 times out of 10. Taking a normal backswing, I feel as if from there I just lean forward into the ball with my whole body, drop the clubhead on the ball and let your right forearm turn over the left. Something in this move has straightened me up hugely and there's nothing wrong with the distance either.

i never hit my drives with more than 80/90% as i feel i lose control if i hit at 100%, ball runs 20/30 yds on fairway where if i hit it full 100% in rough, ball stops right away so i lose 20/30 yds, so really i still his as far at 80/90%.

Very commendable, I think pros do the same, but I'm saying hit it at 50% unless you are really straight. You'd be suprised at how the rest of the game takes care of itself when you are on the short grass all the time.

dont know what girls you watch but all the ones i know hit ball really hard at at least 90% the seem to have a much more controled tempo that the avg guy. maybe dont hit as far but do seem to hit more fairways when i play a mixed 4s, the ladys tour pros have some wonderful swing tempos and us guys could learn a lot from there swing.
