Hope you guys laugh at this.

I understand the mike vick thing, I think he deserved jail time. This guy deserves maybe a fine only because the bird was protected.

I know we've all aimed at the birds in our life, if this guy goes to jail then our legal system has its head in the wrong place.

With the amount of money he makes in endorsements a fine will not even register with him. His punishment should be something that will dissuade him and others from continuing foolish behavior like that in the future.

You are wrong that everyone aims at birds. I have never and will never do anything so juvenile. Let me ask you this - How would you feel if you had a pet and you found out some idiot killed it by intentionally hitting golf balls at it? Regardless the hawk didn't deserve to be killed.

Edit: It was just reported that Isenhour will be questioned on Golf Central on Friday.

Re: Hope you guys laugh at this.

This wasn't someone's pet though, it was some random bird and he was probably just trying to put on a show for the people there because I'm sure it was some boring commericial shoot for a sponsor he probably doesn't care too much about besides the check that gets put in his bank account.

Make him do a fine or community service but nothing excessive, it's not like he knew that it was an endangered bird and shot it with a sniper rifle. They're looking at it as if they're considering golf balls as lethal weapons. If that were the case then we would have to get permits just to hit golf balls and play golf c'mon now the guy was just having fun. Punish him because it was an endangered bird, have him do a few commercials about how it's not right to hit golf balls at animals and let him move on.

Someone that injures or kills an innocent animal for fun is lowlife in my opinion and deserves to be punished severely.

Re: Hope you guys laugh at this.

I feel that he should be punished, a fine and some community service would suffice IMO. But I don't think this guy is a low life or anything, mike vick is a low life, this guy was just having fun and probably didn't even think he could hit the bird.

right on Brian, it has nothing to do with whether the poor animal was an endangered spiecies or not, the GIT killed an innocent creature. Place him on a range so we can all shoot balls at him "oh sorry mate I didn't mean to hit you in the face with that one" Take his card off him is what I say.

Re: Hope you guys laugh at this.

Dang, you guys are kinda harsh. You really and truly think the guy should lose his tour card that he had to work so hard for after hitting a bird with a golf ball. The fact that he killed it was probably a million to one shot. He could have hit it in many places on its body and it wouldn't have died. I understand about the integrity of the game and what not, but put yourself in his shoes. You were trying to have a little fun, and yes it was a big mistake, but do you really deserve to lose what you've worked for your whole life for something like this?

Hope you guys laugh at this. NOT ME!

the thing is gatorguy, is that he aimed at the bird with the intention of trying to hit it. If he just wanted to have some "fun" he should have aimed at something else, like coke can or something.

Re: Hope you guys laugh at this.

I gotta say I'm with GatorGuy on this.

Yes, the jerk deserves the punishment that goes with killing an animal for pleasure, and killing an endangered species. It's no worse, IMO, than a Marine blowing up a camel with a rocket launcher because he was bored.

However, you'll never convince me that he should lose his JOB because of it.

They both need hanging by the scroat. If you take the job then adopt the responsibility or pay the price, what kind of role models are they.

I fully agree they're horrible role models.

Sadly, nobody believes that anyone's watching, anymore. I'd never heard of Tripp until now.

Re: Hope you guys laugh at this.

My problem is that you can steal something from a store, or anywhere, and not spend a second in jail. This guy hits a bird with a golf ball regardless of it being intentional or not I don't get how that's any worse than stealing.

I'm glad Lowpost sees it my way, I mean yeah fine the guy, maybe a little community service a commercial about being nice to animals or something and end it at that. Yeah it was wrong, we know that, he knows that, but this shouldn't be something that ruins his life. We have to learn from our mistakes this was a big one, but there's no need to take away his tour card that is unbelievably hard to get. It's one mistake, like they've been saying he's never had any issues in the past. It's not like he's the "bad boy" on tour.

Re: Hope you guys laugh at this.

Just a very very stupid thing to do, guy clearly has issues since he hit multiple balls at the bird in what sounds like temper.

Dont really think taking his card off him is quite justifiable, though. I'm sure he feels like enough of a tool as it is. Removing his livelihood is just knee jerk environmentalist pandering and theres quite enough of that in the world.

Feel for the poor bird though, minding its own business trying to attract some lady hawk action!!

BTW just read the article in detail, I have to say I loved the line from Michael Markarian "Americans have no tolerance for cruelty to animals".....maybe not at your nice civilized Humane Society dinners Mikey, but you are talking about a culture in which a decent percentage of the population see no problem with a bunch of sweaty men with assault rifles running around a forest with a hard on chasing a deer.......

Whatever happened to live and let live.....I dont approve of things like hunting to be honest, but as long as its not against the law then its something you have to accept in this decreasingly "free" world....
